Spring Walk

Took my camera for a walk around town on a beautiful day. We had a lot of plans for this year, they had to be shelved but we will get through this, we have a great community.. stay safe everybody!

Eid ul Fitr

One thing we have always tried to do is involve more of the New Irish in our work and one of our volunteers also works in the Muslim community and to this end  the Edgeworthstown Tidy Towns Committee would like to thank Maqbool Ahmed for his invitation to the Eid ul Fitr Dinner this evening(8th June) in the Community Centre to mark the end of Ramadhan. As part of the ceremonies before hand there was a reading from the Qur’an – the same verses translated into English and Irish. All in all an enjoyable evening.

Xmas Lights 2018

There was a great turnout for the switching on of the Xmas Lights today – 2nd December. Great credit to all involved – Brigid Duffy and Edgeworthstown traders, Jimmy Connell (MC) and the three young ladies (winners of All- Ireland Community Games gold medals) who turned on the lights. Tidy Towns helped with the stewarding on the night but it was a great community effort.

2018 Results

Well the big day has arrived and we have received our results. For the past number of years we have increased our marks and this year is no exception- increasing by 12 marks. This is down to the hard work of the volunteers and the support of the community and we’d like to thank anyone who helped out with our various activities through the year. We hope to continue improving as the years go on.
