School Outing

Earlier this month a group of 50 children from St. Mary’s National School in Edgeworthstown made the short trip to Glen Lough Nature Reserve. Glen Lough is designated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service as an SPA, an area of special protection. Glen Lough is a unique and bio diverse habitat. There are many rare and interesting native plants and animals which inhabit the area and a number of lovely walks and pools for exploring. In the company of Noreen McLoughlin, environmental consultant and Aine from IWT (Irish Wildlife Trust) the children spent a fascinating time learning about the plants and animals in the area. Tidy Towns would like to thank Noreen and Aine for hosting this event.
