Spring Clean 2013

It’s a new year and it will soon be time to begin our activities for 2013. First on the list is the Spring Clean. This year we are hoping to get volunteers from the Men’s and Ladies GAA Clubs to come out and help with the tidy up. It’s going to be a big year for the town, which this year will host the Longford Ploughing Championships, Leinster Community Games Finals and our local Gathering Event in July. On top of that is our normal entry into the Tidy Towns Competition for 2013. It’s not going to be easy. Funds have almost dried up, two more local businesses have shut up shop and there are doubts about others. However we have had good responses from groups in the area, the Firemen and Foroige and if the GAA clubs get involved we should have a good turnout. Volunteers are always welcome and the great thing is you don’t have to commit to being there every time, just when you can so if you are willing and able please join in.

Spring Clean 2013 takes place on 23rd March at 2pmPhoto0119
